Internet training for journalist





For five days I was attending training on how to use the internet which is conducted by The Media Institute of Southern Africa Tanzania (Misa-Tan) in collaboration with Finnish Foundation for Media and Development (VIKES) from February 11-15, 2013.
The seminar is involving editors and lecturers of media institution in Dar es Salaam.
 We started to learn how internet changed the society for various uses in the modern world as compared to the years before its invention and its wide use.
 Its use meets different needs to be done for the purpose of a better works, to get information, to search for education etc.

Things that one can easily search from the internet and get information include media world news, encyclopedia, banking services, map, train timetable, booking offices for train and air tickets, weather report, phone director, social media, discussion group, meeting people, television, music and film channels and all kinds of game.
Then we learned how to use different networks for access to information materials to work, get information sources, mobile phone numbers of leaders, institutions and background material for the cases already reported to the article.
Similarly, we are taught how to use networking in www.brogger.com, www. amazon.com, googles, facebook for various needs and how to view music and football competitions through Youtube website.
We learn more how to open a blog and to publish,  insert picture and to put caption, to search the statistic of internet users in the world, to use the internet map for understanding cities and regions around the world, the weather and how to get the books or publications.
Also to find information that has been published in newspapers on the head or a major event.
Thanks to MISA-TAN for giving us this training that was provided by the trainer,  Peik Johansson because he helped me to find quickly material which  I need to perform my daily work.
Also I have used this training to educate others journalists on how to get background material for their stories through internet.

So; we need more training about using internet.

China yazidi kuwekeza Afrika




Nchi nyingi za Afrika zimekuwa zikinufaika na uwekezaji unaoendelea kufanywa na Serikali ya China na makampuni binafsi ya nchini humo katika sekta mbalimbali kwa lengo la kuukuza uchumi na kuondoa umaskini uliokithiri kwa wananchi.
Hatua hiyo inatokana na nchi hiyo kubwa duniani kuwa na uhusiano mzuri na Afrika katika nyanja za kisiasa, kiuchumi, kijeshi, kijamii na kiutamaduni kuanzia  wakati wa Kiongozi wa kwanza wa Chama cha Kikomunisti cha China, Mao Zedong.
 Kuanzia karne ya  21  hali ya kisasa ya Jamhuri ya Watu wa China imezidi kujenga  nguvu ya uhusiano wa kiuchumi na Afrika.
Inaelezwa kuwa kuanzia Agosti 2007, inakadiriwa zaidi ya raia  750,000 China wanafanya kazi katika nchi za Afrika ambako kuna kuna makampuni ya nchi hiyo yamewekeza Afrika.
Raia hao wa China wengi wao wanafanya kazi katika makampuni ya ujenzi ukiwamo wa barabara, viwanda na sehemu nyingine.
Hali hiyo imezifanya nchi hizo za Afrika kunufaika kwa kukuza uchumi na baadhi ya raia wake kupata ajira.
Vilevile nchi hizo zimekuwa zikipata wataalaam wa fani mbalimbali kutokana na China kufadhili raia wao kwenda kujiunga na elimu ya juu katika vyuo vyake vikuu vilivyopo nchini humo.
 Hatua hiyo inawanufaisha wananchi wengi wa Afrika hasa wenye kipato cha chini kwa  kwa kununua bidhaa mbalimbali kwa matumizi ya nyumbani na nguo zinazozalishwa na makampuni ya China.
Vilevile vijana wengi wa wamejikuta wakijiajiri kwa kununua bidhaa hizo kwenye maduka na makampuni ya raia wa China na kuziuza huku wengine wakitembeleza mitaani na kujipatia kipato ambacho kinawawezesha kujikimu kimaisha.
 Hata hivyo, kitendo cha bidhaa za China kuuzwa kwa bei ya chini, kimekuwa kikilalamikiwa na wamiliki wa baadhi ya makampuni yanayotengeneza bidhaa kama hizo wakidai zinaua biashara zao na kuwa katika hatari ya kufilisika.
Makampuni hayo pia yamekuwa yakilalamikiwa kwa kuajiri raia kutoka China kufanya kazi hasa za vibarua ambazo zingeweza kufanywa na Watanzania.
 Biashara  hiyo kati ya China na Afrika iliongezeka zaidi katika miaka ya 1990 na kwa sasa  ni kubwa zaidi Afrika na kuzua hofu kwa baadhi ya mataifa mengine makubwa duniani kuwa bidhaa zake zinaweza kuua soko la bidhaa zao katika nchi mbalimbali kutokana na kuuzwa kwa bei ya chini na kuwa kimbilio na watu wengi hasa kwa Afrika.
  Mauzo ya bidhaa za China kwa nchi za Afrika yameteka soko kubwa katika baadhi ya nchi kutokana na kuuzwa kwa bei ya chini.
 Bidhaa hizo ni pamoja na vyombo vya jikoni, simu za mkononi, seti za redio, televisheni, miamvuli, nguo na vifaa vinavyotumia umeme.
China imekuwa ikichangia ukuaji wa uchumi wa Afrika kwa kuwekeza katika sekta mbalimbali kwa nchi za Afrika.
Nchi hiyo imewekeza katika sekta hizo za biashara, madini, ujenzi wa miundombinu ya  barabara, reli, bandari, viwanja vya ndege na vya michezo .
Uwekezaji huo umeifanya biashara yake kuongezeka kwa kasi zaidi  zaidi ya miongo iliyopita.
Takwimu zinaonyesha kuwa kwa biashara ya jumla ilikuwa takribani dola bilioni 100  za Marekani mwaka 1990,   bilioni 500 mwaka 2000, bilioni 850 mwaka 2004, bilioni 1,400 mwaka 2005, na 2,200  mwaka 2007.
 Hata hivyo baadhi ya watu wamekuwa wakilalamikia bidhaa nyingi za nchi hizo kuwa hazina ubora wa viwango vinavyotakiwa.
Kwa upande wa Serikali ya China, imesema nchi za Afrika zinawajibika kwakushindwa kukamata  bidhaa zisizokuwa na ubora (feki) zinazoingizwa na wafanyabiashara  wenye tamaa.
Mkurugenzi Mkuu wa Idara Mahusiano ya Afrika katika Wizara ya Mambo ya Nje ya China, Lu Shaye, alitoa kauli hiyo wakati akizungumza na waandishi wa habari ambao walihudhuria mkutano wa tano wa Mawaziri katika Kongamano la Ushirikiano kati ya nchi za Afrika na China uliofanyika nchini humo.

Serikali hiyo pia imetangaza Tanzania ni moja ya eneo muhimu la biashara za bidhaa zinazozalishwa nchini mwake katika Afrika Mashariki kwa vileinazungukwa na  nchi za Ethiopia, Kenya,Msumbiji, Uganda, Burundi, Rwanda, Zambia, Malawi na Jamhuri ya Kidemokrasia ya Congo (DRC). Alisisitiza kuwa bidhaa za China ni bora na zinatambulika duniani na kwamba zinapatikana kwa  bei nzuri.

Habari zaidi zinasema kuna makubaliano ya  Chinakuwekeza katika nchi za Afrika kwa  kipindi cha miaka 10. 
Vilevile kuna habari zinaeleza kuwa maendeleo ya Afrika yanazivutia nchi zenye uwezo mkubwa wa kiuchumi duniani hasa China kwenda kuwekeza katika bara hilo .
pamoja na mambo mengine, China imeahidi kutoa mabilioni ya dola za Marekani kwa Afrika kuimarisha miundombinu,kufungua viwanda vipya na kuongeza ajira kwa vijana

Murdoch: Young people with Internet



A large number of young people noted that they spent over the internet to get news more than reading newspapers to get information and learn different things.
According the speech  of RupertMurdovich ford american Society of Newspaper editors, a group of young people aged between 18-34 years are using the Internet to meet their needs.
Many of them have been following the events occurring around through the various networks, including the major news organizations, learning.
 And he realised that about next generation of people accessing news and information from newspapers or any other source about the kind of news and how, where and who they will get it from.
He said consumers between the ages of 18-34 are increasingly use the web as their medium of choice for news consumption

He quoted a report by the Carnegie Corparation about young peoples changing habits of news consumption and  what they mean for the future of the news industry.
He added, study found that 39 percent expected to use the internet more than to learn  about the news and only 8 pecent expected to use traditional newspapers more.
It seems that, young people are acessing news, they do not want to rely on the morning paper for their up date information..
He worned they have to apply a digital mindset to a new set of challlenges. He was talking about the role of newspapers in the digital age
